Monrovia Liberia – The special presidential taskforce set up to investigate the shortage of petroleum products on market says their report, including recommendations will be submitted to the President by Friday, February 21, 2020.
According to the minister of state without portfolio, Trokon Kpui, the investigation is covering from January 2017 to January 2020.
The investigation is covering the movement of shipments from the vessels to the shore over the period.
Minister Trokon Kpui who is also head of the taskforce, said the taskforce has given exclusive tank rights to importers who have their products on the HOFNIA Hoep vessel.
He further stated that security measures have been put in place to ensure that importers offload their products separately to avoid mingling.
Meawnhile Minsiter Kpui says all the current stock of petroleum products at the port are currently under investigation and will not be lifted by LPRC.
He made the disclosure when he appeared on ELBC RADIO.
Meanwhile Information Minsiter Eugene Nagbe says President George Weah will not take actions until the investigation from the special presidential taskforce is completed.
Minsiter Nagbe stated the President remains committed to ensuring that the key issue of the petroleum product shortage is addressed.
He noted that President will not hesitate to take any further actions when the investigation is completed.
