MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The President of the Press Union of Liberia, Charles Coffey, is warning journalists against partisan Journalism ahead of the pending Senatorial Election.
Mr. Coffey’s warning followed the Union’s recent suspension of three freelance journalists for declaring their membership with some political parties.
Mr. Coffey is urging media colleagues to suspend their memberships with the Union if they have intention to join political parties.
He called for non-partisan journalism in line with the Union’s Code of ethics, when he spoke in an interview with ELBC, Monday, August 31, 2020.
Meanwhile, the PUL President has termed as devilish, the high level of rape cases against minors.
The PUL President attributed the high reportage to the media’s constant engagement in reporting SGBV cases.
