Bakery in Monrovia

MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-An inspection campaign has been launched to ensure bakeries in Montserrado County comply with health and environmental safety measures, in the production of food products.

The Montserrado County Health Team’s Environmental Health Department and the Bakery Union of Liberia on Thursday, October 22, 2020, launched the Bakery Assessment and Inspection Checklist in Paynesville.

As part of the exercise, a team from the Ministry of Health and the Bakery Union will conduct routine inspection of various bakeries in Montserrado County, to guarantee the hygienic nature of their products.

Launching the exercise, Montserrado County Health Officer, Dr.Yatta Wapoe, called on bakers to comply with health and environmental safety measures during their production or risk closure.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Bakery Union of Liberia, Amos Tengbeh, emphasized that food is essential to mankind, calling on bakers to do what is right in food preparation.
