President George Weah has ended a meeting with the President of Fifa, Gianni Infantino, and the President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe.
The two football chiefs are in Liberia to inspect ongoing Fifa projects under the Liberia Football Association.
Following the meeting on Wednesday, Information Minister, Ledgerhood Rennie, told ELBC that the Fifa President assured of his organization’s support to develop football in Liberia.
Minister Rennie said President Infantino was particular about football development through education, while CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, urged the Liberian Government to improve the economy through sports.
Meanwhile, Minister Rennie said President Weah’s iconic personality in football was an influencing factor to suspend the ban on the SKD by CAF.
Minister Rennie also believes the ban may be lifted soon.
