MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Minister Wilhelmina Jallah says one of the major issues plaguing Liberia is deteriorating mental health.
Minister Jallah said:” The menace is adversely affecting mainly the Country’s youthful population.”
Dr. Jallah said they are working to improve mental health program in the Country.
She was speaking at the opening of a three-day gathering to strengthen mental health.
The three-day gathering also seeks to integrate psychological support into emergency preparedness and response.
It it organized by the Center for Disease Control (CDC)-Africa Chapter.
Also speaking, CDC Africa Head of Division of Disease Control on Prevention, Dr. Mohammed Abdulaziz, said:” The gathering is in fulfillment of the African Heads of State commitment to CDC Africa to address mental health problem on the African Continent.”
