Gov’t, partners take steps to rehabilitate at-risk-youths across Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government and partners have begun taken steps to recruit and rehabilitate hundreds of at-risk-youths across the Country.

A major launch of a national fund drive in support of the process is planned for Thursday, June 30, 2022, in Monrovia.

Speaking on ELBC Super Morning Show on Monday, June 27, 2022, Youth and Sports Minister D. Zeogar Wilson said:” The move is part of President George Weah‘s dream to transform at-risk-youths into productive citizens.”

He said the Government is targeting thirteen-point-eight-million United States Dollars to carry out the initiative.

Minister Wilson noted that six–point-five-million will go towards renovation of the rehabilitation center in Bensonville, while the rest will be used for the direct implementation of the project.

One-hundred-fifty at-risk-youths are expected to benefit from the first phase of the project, which will last for twenty months.
